Wellness for $5 per year!

Most companies can implement a comprehensive employee wellness program by spending as little as $5 per employee per year. The Wellness Councils of America found that some employers experience a return of up to $24 for every $1 invested in wellness. And according to a 2005 study by the Journal of Health Promotion, companies with wellness programs saw a 30% reduction in medical and absenteeism costs after just over 3 and one half years.

The key to a successful wellness program lies in correct incentives,strong C-level support and effective communication. CEO's need to lead by example. Employees need to see multiple communications regarding the wellness program. Critical to the success of a wellness program are incentives. Money talks. Incentives can increase participation from 10% to over 70% and that is when companies will see real savings.
