Although the seasonal flu vaccine does not prevent swine flu, the CDC has stepped up its recommendations. "Vaccination against seasonal influenza should begin as soon as vaccine is available and continue throughout the flu season," said Dr. Anne Schuchat. According to the CDC, the seasonal vaccine will prevent individuals from being infected by both strains of flu simultaneously, and can "help minimize the effects of the pandemic on schools, workplaces, and the economy in general."
Health fair season is fast approaching, so start planning now. Providing flu shots to your employees will help them stay well--and that helps your bottom line.
For every flu shot we administer this year, Wellness Corporate Solutions will donate 50 cents to A Wider Circle, a charity that assists low-income families.
