23 and 1/2 Hours: The Magic Pill for Health

At Wellness Corporate Solutions, we spend our days urging employers to take an interest in the health of their employees. We stress the value of biometric screenings, onsite fitness classes, wellness websites, and more. All of these features are important components of a successful workplace wellness program but this 9-minute clip suggests we could throw it all out the window and replace it with one magic fix.

Study after study shows that moderate exercise, like low impact walking, in the amount of just 30 minutes a day can significantly lower an individual’s risk of disease. For the average American, 30 minutes of exercise might sound like a lot, but the benefits of this routine are priceless. We spend our days sedentary and rarely make time for even a ten-minute walk around the block. But, as this video illustrates, you don’t have to be a marathoner to add years to your life and improve the overall quality of the days you live.

If you’re going to spend 23 and ½ hours every day sleeping or sitting, carve out 30 minutes to move. It’s just that simple.
