Wellness Program Implementation at WCS Looks a Lot Like Dating

After nearly a decade in the corporate wellness industry, all of us at WCS have learned a thing or two about implementing a successful worksite health program. Over the years, there have, of course, been ups and downs but one approach has consistently led to happy clients.

When we treat the business like a romantic relationship, we go above and beyond, and always aim to please. We pamper our clients. We express to them often how important they are, and we show them every chance how much we value them. Hand holding is a big part of what we do. When we show our clients appreciation, we get appreciation back.

There is also endless creativity that comes into play. In the initial stages of dating, dinner and a movie is a great way to get to know someone. It’s comfortable, it’s fun, but after a while, it starts to get old. We approach our employee wellness solutions the same way. While there are certain “go-to” programs or activities we recommend as a foundation for many of our clients, some companies have partnered with us since the very beginning. Eight years later, they want fresh ideas, new challenges, and current, exciting programs. It’s important not to get complacent with a client just like it’s important not to grow complacent with a significant other.

We believe that failing to risk is risking to fail. The cute barista at the neighborhood Starbucks might seem out of your league, but if you don’t gather the courage to ask for a date, you’ll never know what could have been. It’s the same way with our corporate wellness programs. New technology is released daily. Despite the terror we first felt at the thought of digital pen technology, or paperless data uploads, taking the risk paid off. Many companies seek us out because of our state-of-the-art approach to wellness. Our screenings and health fairs reflect the most current technology in the industry and our clients recognize the streamlined, efficient process.

Finally, like any love-struck Romeo, we do face rejection from time to time. But, we have learned to pick ourselves up and try again. So what if we don’t win a contract on the first try? Persistence pays off. We continue to push ourselves every day to be the best wellness provider in the country and our client satisfaction scores support our methods of implementation and management.
